What is Bank On?
Bank On is a national movement, led by national nonprofit organization the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE Fund), that works to make sure everyone can open a safe and affordable bank or credit union account.
What is a Bank On certified account? The CFE Fund certifies bank and credit union accounts as meeting the Bank On National Account Standards; accounts that meet our Standards have no overdraft fees, keep your money safe, and almost all cost $5 or less a month.
Which banks and credit unions offer Bank On certified accounts that can be opened online?
To open your new account online, you may need:
- Social Security Number or ITIN number
- State-issued identification (like your Driver’s License)
- Passport or a country-issued identification card
- Mailing address
- Date of Birth
